ASTM A537 Steel Plates: A537 class 1 / A537 CL1, A537 class 2 / A537 CL2, A537 class 3 / A537 CL3
ASTM A537 steel plates are heat-treated carbon- manganese-silicon steel plates intended for fusion welded pressure vessels and structures. A537 pressure vessel steel plates are available in three classes: A537 class 1, A537 class 2, A537 class 3.
The maximum thickness of A537 class 1 steel plate is 4 in. [100 mm], the max. A537 class 2 and A537 class 3 pressure vessel steel plate thickness is 6 in. [150 mm].
A537 class 1 steel plate shall be normalized. A537 class 2 steel plate and A537 class 3 steel plate shall be quenched and tempered(Q+T).
