It is intended to be used in conjunction with NPWT device and the suction pump delivers negative pressure to the dressing to aid in the removal of exudate from the wound into the collection canister.

It promote wound healing via removal of fluids, including irrigation and body fluids, wound exudates

and infectious materials from the wound beds.
