BD-HCEA concrete expansive agent

Expansive agents are used to decrease concrete shrinkage. Two types of expansive materials are presently used: one is based on calcium sulphoaluminate, whereas the other is dead-burn lime. Some commercial formulations are a combination of these two expansive materials.

This product will chemically react with cement mineral components when it encounters water, and the reaction product is calcium sulphoaluminate (ettringite) or calcium hydroxide, ferric hydroxide, etc., which leads to volume expansion effect. In the reinforcement and adjacent constraints to produce  certain amount of prestress to prevent harmful cracks, compensation for shrinkage, while absorbing a certain amount of hydration heat, the production of reactants can fill and plug the capillary gap, increase the compactness of concrete, improve the permeability. All the performance indexes of the products meet the requirements of GB23439-2017 quality standard.

Precautions:

1. The mix ratio design of concrete mixed with HCEA high-efficiency concrete expansion agent should meet the technical indicators and construction workability requirements such as strength, expansion performance, impermeability and durability required by the design.

2. The expansive content is based on the limited expansion rate required by the design, using the engineering materials, and is determined by the mix ratio test.

3. Recommended dosage: 10% of the cementitious material (internal admixture), 10-12% in compensating shrinkage concrete, 12-15% in post-casting tape, expansion reinforcing tape and engineering joint filling.

4. During construction, it is necessary to ensure that the shrinkage-compensating concrete is prepared according to the design requirements of the mix ratio to ensure the accuracy of the amount of expansion agent.

5. The mixing time of the concrete mixed on site is 30s longer than that of ordinary concrete to ensure that the expansion agent, cement and water reducer are mixed evenly and improve its homogeneity.

Packaging, Storage and Shipping

1. This product is packaged in an inner woven bag, weighing 50kg/bag;

2. This product should be stored in airtight plastic or stainless steel containers at room temperature, and the shelf life is 12 months.
Do not mix with other admixtures, rainwater and any impurities. In case of overdue storage, professional engineers can only continue to use it after passing the concrete test.
