Aluminium hydroxide is a white powder used as a flame retardant and filler. In resin solid surface applications, aluminium hydroxide has a white crystalline structure, non-toxic, odourless, excellent flowability, low oil absorption, very low iron content, clear particle morphology, uniform size distribution, low impurity content, high stability, high whiteness and good dispersion. When aluminium hydroxide is added to the composite material, the aluminium hydroxide will take on the form of a micro-powder with extremely high whiteness, ensuring minimal secondary pollution, smoke suppression, efficient filling and anti-static properties. The initial decomposition temperature of aluminium hydroxide flame retardants is around 205°C. When heated, a large amount of water vapour is released. This water vapour effectively absorbs heat and dilutes the concentration of flammable gases released by the polymer. In addition, it can form a non-combustible barrier between the heat source and the base material, thus achieving the effect of flame retardancy. In addition, since the gases released are mainly water vapour, it can act as an effective smoke suppressant without corroding metals.
