What material is LCP

LCP is a new type of polymer material, commonly known as Liquid Crystal Polymer. twelve
LCP usually exhibits liquid crystal characteristics under specific heating conditions. This material has lower viscosity and high orientation in the liquid crystal phase state. After cooling and curing, its morphology can be stably maintained, thus LCP has excellent mechanical properties. The characteristics of LCP include high molecular weight, ordered orientation, low moisture absorption, chemical corrosion resistance, weather resistance, heat resistance, and flame retardancy.
LCP is mainly divided into two types: lyotropic liquid crystal (LLCP) and thermotropic liquid crystal (TLCP). TLCP forms a liquid crystal phase above the melting point or glass transition temperature, and various products can be formed through thermal processing methods such as injection and extrusion. LCP materials have a wide range of applications, such as manufacturing conductive connectors, reinforcing woven fabrics for vascular catheters, etc.
